Dr. Leticia Frizzo da Silva is a veterinary virologist who has worked with multiple agents that cause disease in livestock.
Originally from Brazil, Leticia earned a DVM and a master’s degree in preventive veterinary medicine from the Federal University of Santa Maria. Leticia moved to US in 2007 and obtained a PhD in Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences from the University of Nebraska in 2012. Following her PhD, she joined the poultry vaccine industry where she has been acting for eleven years as a lead scientist.
Her major contributions include R&D and licensing of vaccines against major poultry disease such as Marek’s disease, Newcastle disease, infectious bursal disease, infectious bronchitis, and avian influenza. She is currently with Zoetis acting as lead scientist in the R&D of vaccines for controlling Avian Influenza.
