Dr. Edgar Oviedo is Technical Director for poultry meat production, broiler breeders and poultry hatcheries during the LPN Congress 2023.
Dr. Edgar O. Oviedo Rondón is a Professor and Extension Specialist in Nutrition, Health, Data Analytics and Broiler Production Chain Management in the Prestage Department of Poultry Science at North Carolina State University.
He also received his degree as a Veterinary Veterinarian Zootechnician (MVZ) from the University of Tolima in Colombia, his native country. Edgar later worked in veterinary medical services for three years before starting graduate studies.
Finally, Edgar Orlando obtained his Master's degree in Animal Nutrition and Production at the State University of Maringá in Brazil, and PhD. in Poultry Science at the University of Arkansas.
In 2018 he earned a Master in Business Administration from North Carolina State University specializing in Supply Chain Management and Decision Making.
Edgar has experience in the poultry industry as a veterinarian, nutritionist, extension agent and international consultant.
Dr. Edgar Oviedo has worked at NC State University for 17 years, after working for 3 years also as a University Professor in Texas.
He has been invited as a guest lecturer in 32 countries. Edgar is the author of 105 articles published in indexed scientific journals, 10 book chapters, four books, 315 abstracts, 337 conference proceedings, and 97 articles in technical, extension and professional journals.
Additionally, Dr. Edgar Oviedo coordinates extension programs in broiler, breeder and hatchery and several international courses in poultry production and data analytics.
