Professor of Veterinary Immunology and Avian Immunology and Pathology at the Atlantic Veterinary College, Prince Edward Island University, Canada. He obtained his degree as a Veterinary Zootechnician from the University of Caldas, Manizales, Colombia; then he completed his MSc studies in immunology (immuno-modulation), at the Javeriana University, Bogota, Colombia; later on he completed his PhD program in Immuno-Virology at the University of AVI, Bogota, Colombia; then he completed his PhD program in Immuno-Virology at the University of Caldas, Manizales, Colombia.
completed his PhD program in Immuno-Virology at AVC-UPEI-Canada; then conducted postdoctoral studies in Immunology and Cancer Immunotherapy at McMaster University (Canada).
At the same University he held the position of research associate where he was responsible for the production of vaccines against human cancers such as Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia and Breast Cancer. He then became an associate professor of avian immunology in the Department of Animal Sciences at the University of Manitoba, where he was the director of the poultry production and research unit.
As a result of his important work he has more than 85 papers published in international journals, has been invited as a speaker in about 120 scientific meetings, has presented his work in 100 opportunities in conferences and congresses.
Currently, Dr. Rodriguez-Lecompte combines his academic work with his dedication and passion for poultry. He is a consultant for several companies in the USA, Canada, Mexico, Colombia, Ecuador, Brazil, Argentina, Chile and Peru.
