› Dr. Serafín García Freire

Dr. Serafin Garcia Freire will present “20 Decisions when constructing a new poultry house” in the Workshop dedicated to Poultry Installations, sponsored by Exafan, which will take place on October 23rd at 11:45 a.m.

From a very young age, he has actively collaborated in the family poultry company of broilers, turkeys and laying hens. During his degree in veterinary medicine obtained from the University of Santiago de Compostela, he created the company Agrogranxa SL, dedicated to the rearing of birds for rural commercialization. Later on, he worked as a technical-commercial veterinarian at Granja Los Rosales (rearing and laying hens) and Avirojo (alternative poultry); as a veterinarian in poultry integration in Vall Companys (Broilers) and as a poultry consultant in the improvement of production results through excellence in environmental control: conducting management-installation evaluations and offering support and training for different companies in the Peninsula and Latin America. He also collaborates in the development of poultry environmental control computers for the companies Exafan and Systeel. He has taught official courses for the Xunta de Galicia of “Agricultural Business Aptitude” (250 hours) and “Animal welfare” (20 hours) for several years. He has two years of experience in poultry slaughterhouses in the United Kingdom and collaborates with Minster Veterinary poultry Practice (Hereford).

Later on, he became the Technical Support Manager of Bedson for Europe, the Middle East and Southeast Asia and South America, providing technical support for the products of the company’s portfolio (antibiotics and additives based on plant extracts).

He currently has the responsibility works as a technical advisor for poultry farming at Boehringer Ingelheim.

He has complemented his degree in veterinary medicine with the higher cycle of “Clinical Diagnostic Laboratory”.
