Doctor in Veterinary Medicine from the National University Pedro Henríquez Ureña de Santo Domingo (1981), Master of Science from the Veterinary Medical Microbiology (1991) and Diploma from the American College of Veterinarians Specialists in Poultry (1996).
He began his professional career working in Veterinary Technical Services for the Mexico area, and later, in 1997, he became the Veterinary Medical Officer in the Federal Department of Agriculture. A year later he joined the Veterinary Technical Services for Latin America where he was until 2003. And in 2004, he became Manager of Veterinary Services (Latin America, Asia), for Special Nutrients in Miami, which he currently holds.
