Dr. Luiz Felipe Caron will speak about “Interrelation between nutrition and immunology in poultry and pigs” on October 24th at 8:45 a.m. in the Monogastric, Nutrition and Feeding Hall.
Prof. Luiz Felipe Caron obtained a degree in Veterinary Medicine from the Federal University of Parana (UFPR) – Brazil, in 1994. He has a Master’s degree in veterinary science and a Ph.D. in Biotechnology from the same university. Since 1999, he is a professor at UFPR, lecturing in Veterinary Microbiology and Veterinary Vaccinology. In addition to the academic activities, he is a researcher in Imunova, a company specialized in monitoring the immune response and in the development of products and processes related to animal production and health. He also provides advice to more than 30 agribusiness branch companies and veterinary product companies. He has presented over 400 lectures in various countries and is a member of the advisory committee for Salmonella, Influenza, and Newcastle of the Ministry of Agriculture (MAPA) in Brazil. He has published articles, books and book chapters on poultry and swine health.
