Dr. Rosales will be the Technical Director (together with Dr. Edgar Oviedo) at the Meat, Breeders and Incubations Hall, and will give a presentation about “Biosecurity: an indispensable investment” that will be on October 24th at 12:45 a.m. in the same hall.
Dr. Gregorio Rosales is originally from the State of Mexico. He received his Veterinary Zootechnician Degree from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) in 1979 and subsequently worked as breeder manager in a broiler producer until 1981.
He completed postgraduate studies at the University of Georgia where he received a Master of Science degree in 1983. He returned to Mexico and worked as an Associate Professor in the Bird Production Department of the School of Veterinary Medicine of UNAM until 1985. He completed postgraduate studies at the University of Georgia and received a Ph.D. in Philosophy (“Ph.D.”) in 1988.
He then began his career in the primary broiler breeder industry, first with the Indian River Company in Nacogdoches, Texas, where he was the Technical Director until 1991. Lately, he arrived at Ross Breeders in Alabama, which became Aviagen North America, where he held different positions for 24 years in the company, becoming Vice President of Veterinary Services.
In 2015 Dr. Rosales retired from his position in Aviagen to work as a private consultant, a task that continues to this day.
Dr. Rosales is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinarians in Birds and has received honors for his dedication and service to the veterinary profession and poultry industry from the American Association of Avian Pathologists and the American Chicken and Egg Association.
